PropertyPro Newsletter XXXIII – June 2011

Hello to Everybody.

Well, winter came early, and then so did Summer - what a bonus! The hanging baskets seem much happier this year and I have found the enthusiasm to start the veg patch again, patch being the operative word since it is so tiny. But the experimental Pak Choi is magnificent and the good weather has let me harvest some spinach already - I have a great salad recipe which I'll happily share if you are interested (guaranteed to impress)!

The past couple of months have been hectic but exciting with the launch of our new apps. I am going to impart some of my new found knowledge on stuff that I previously knew not a lot about (perhaps I should have asked my kids) and hope you will find it of interest, and perhaps for some it will hopefully remove some of the mystery from current technology.

Our stand was a great success and despite sore feet at the end, we felt it had been a very worthwhile two days. Our new apps proved to be bigger crowd pullers than our sweetie jars and the iPhone and iPad took centre stage.

iPhone App - your Website for the iPhone and iPad

Our iPhone app - which is also compatible for the iPad - is now available, which would enable your customers to view your properties from their own mobile phone or iPad.

As with everything we do, it is individually branded, and will strongly promote your image. Your customers download it free. The app would be held in the Apple Store, and links to it would feature on your own website and outgoing emails, resulting in more downloads, increased website traffic, and demonstrate you understand and are responding to the demands of today's market.

Remember, YOU don't need to have an iPhone - the app is for your Customer's iPhone and/or iPad.

The App works from a feed from your own website, so it is always up to date. How clever, particularly when you see how it actually works!

It features Refined Search, Favourites, Get my Location, Show properties near me, and Email contact. As well, it will show your office contact number, or a list of all offices with the nearest office, and enable 'tap to dial'.

Take On App for the iPad

The iPad is a such great device - and not just for games and reading books as I originally thought.

Our app is in the final stages of development but what we were able to show was enough to generate huge interest in the concept of utilising its presentational capabilities to help gain instructions. There were several points where we had people queuing for a demonstration.

We are very conscious that it is not always possible to connect to the internet when you are in a customer's home. People can be reluctant or unable to let you use their wireless broadband and 3G coverage is patchy & slow.

When you are in front of a potential vendor in their home you have a single opportunity to impress them with your presentation. This needs to be slick and professional with technology only used if it enhances the experience.

Here are a couple of screen shots to show you what we have so far and how property information can be entered on-site.

We have developed the app to synchronise with your database so that you can take the iPad with you on appointments to help back up your valuation showing matching customers for a property and the impact that price changes have.

You can enter property information into the iPad without the need for connection to the internet, as well as work on-line when convenient to send emails and browse the internet.

It will record dictations of room and property descriptions (iPad2 only), and take photos or show photos originally taken with your camera. So you could send property information, photos, voice files & signed documents back to your office where these can be integrated into your system.

It can also hold your agency agreement, offering the opportunity of instant digital sign off. You will be able to enter customer information .... and sign off the agreement on-site:

There is of course more to come, such as floorplans, but certainly you can talk to us if you would like to know more about it or even arrange to come in and see it working.

Free Training Days

The training is totally tailored to those who attend the day, and we really encourage everyone to take advantage of these free training days.

We are still running a new user day each month alternating between Admin and Negotiator. If you have a new starter, then please send them along for training. From their viewpoint it eases the pressure of operating a new software program whilst getting used to a new office environment and procedures.

The second session each month is generally a refresher for those who want to use the system more efficiently. It's an opportunity to see any new features, be reminded of old forgotten features, and update existing skills.

The next Open Training days:

Wednesday 6th July - New User (Admin) We will focus on entering customer data, creating property records, publishing details and sending letters.

Wednesday 20th July - Refresher Reports and General Overview of PropertyPro
